The Still Small Voice By The River

Two days ago I set out for a walk. Large snow flakes fell, as I walked. As I entered a woods, large raindrops began to fall. I thought of returning home, but instead decided to keep walking. In a short time, I was walking along the river. As I walked, I heard the rain drops hitting the river and falling through the trees. I walked quietly through the woods and stopped and leaned against a tree. As I watched the water flow by, I heard the quiet sound of a train and a barking dog. The stillness and the calm enveloped me. As I stood still I allowed thoughts to flow through my mind, realizing that this quiet time of life is coming to a close soon.

As I write this, I have no idea where my next home will be, but I am reminded that the LORD is my shepherd and he will take care of me. God's still small voice spoke to me as scripture flowed through my mind and heart.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 23:5-6
