A Skip And A New Season

Very seldom do I feel like skipping as I walk. In fact it is not something that enters my mind even when I am experiencing a joyous day. More than likely it is, because of my age. Yet today, as my day progressed I felt like skipping out the door of the church. I am attending a church that is what I describe as my holding pattern as I prepare to take the big leap into church planting.

Community is very important to me and I believe we grow best spiritually and in all areas of our life when we are part of the body of Christ in a church setting. God does not call us to live an isolated life. In fact I am also in a small group, that someone else leads once per week. It is not easy staying in community as time is approaching to move my home to another area.

Today I feel that God moved my heart one step closer to the plans he has for me. Instead of taking a nap I visited our local Target store and picked up a few plastic containers, to begin to repack my old boxes. I browsed through the dining section, looking at place settings, place mats, glasses, napkins and all those things that assist in setting a welcoming table for guests and for my future friends. I truly missed not having my own place to welcome guests into my home. In fact as I browsed through the store I found myself in the aisle with the journals.

As I picked up the journal that is in this picture, I realized instantly that I am not waiting for a new season of life, but instead I am IN the new season. This journal now sits on my desk and represents the new season that begins today as I write my first entry on the first page.

If you desire I would love for you to follow me on this journey and new season in my life. In fact I am hoping and praying that something I write will bring a little skip or spring to your step and assist you in looking forward to new seasons of life instead of fearing them.

For I know the plan I have for you, declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you for praying Margaret! The moving to a new area and planting a church is a time of stretching.
